A little support goes a long way
Posted Feb 8, 2010 By Sarah KelfordKanata resident and Richmond native Natasha Kadoski has signed up to participate in this year’s 60 kilometre walk during the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers.
“I’m walking for those who have been touched by cancer,” said Kadoski, who experienced the devastation that cancers causes when her long-time best friend’s mom passed away from the disease.
Kadoski is on the walking team ‘GR8 Cause’ and, along with two of her teammates, Theresa Kelly and Cathy Skinner, is hosting a fundraising event on Saturday, Feb. 20, called Spare your Hair for cancer, to raise money for their contribution for the June 5 and 6 walk.
This is Kadoski’s first year taking part in the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers and decided to join GR8 Cause after supporting the team members last year. Each participant is required to raise $2,000 to participate in the two-day walk, this fundraising event will go towards part of their fundraising efforts.
